What’s new for Dynamics 365?

Microsoft Dynamics 365 is a portfolio of intelligent business applications that help you run your entire business and deliver greater results through predictive, AI-driven insights. It's designed to enable businesses to become more agile and reduce complexity without increasing costs.

Microsoft Dynamics 365 gets updates in two waves each year. Wave 1 covers features releasing from April through September. Wave 2 covers features releasing from October through March.

The 2023 release wave 2 for Dynamics 365 brings new innovations that provide you with significant capabilities to transform your business. The release contains hundreds of new features across Dynamics 365 applications, including Marketing, Sales, Customer Service, Field Service, Finance, Supply Chain Management, Project Operations, finance and operations cross-app capabilities, Human Resources, Commerce, Business Central, Guides, and Customer Insights as well as Microsoft Sales Copilot and Microsoft supply chain platform and its supporting products.

Important items to note, Microsoft has made changes to Dynamics 365 service updates:

Beginning in 2024 rather than 8 updates a year, there are now only 4.
Customers must continue to complete at least 2 updates a year.
Customers can only skip 1 consecutive update rather than 3.
The naming convention of updates has also changed to represent the year and quarter which aligns with the now quarterly updates.
