Mazars partners with American Corporate Partners (ACP) to help veterans find their next careers

New York, NY - (November 2021) - Mazars in the US has partnered with veteran service organization American Corporate Partners (ACP), the only nationwide veteran mentorship program that offers year-long, customized, one-on-one career counseling and networking opportunities with seasoned corporate mentors to transitioning service members and active duty military spouses. Mazars joined ACP’s program to step up and help these military members find their next career after service. Mazars volunteers work with veterans on everything from translating their experience into language corporations can understand to helping them find meaningful employment.

Mazars decided to participate in ACP’s mentorship program as part of their military veteran recruitment initiative. An added benefit, it allows them to see what kind of talent is out there. “I am so glad I can guide an ACP Protégé in finding their next career. Military members have soft skills that easily translate to corporate America, so I want to make sure I let them know this. At the same time, I can keep an eye out for an ACP Protégé that would fit open positions at our firm,” said ACP Mentor and Mazars Audit Manager Jack Klage.

Jack Klage is an Audit Manager for Mazars in Chicago and has been with the firm for over five years. In his role, he is primarily responsible for conducting audits for manufacturing companies in the United States and Europe. He is very thankful for the United States military, and ACP sparked his interest once he heard about the program. Jack is a perfect example of a Mazars employee who volunteers to help transitioning veterans.

After going through ACP's mentorship program, Deandre Washington, a Financial Operations Technician for the US Air Force Reserves, worked with Jack to help define his post-military career goals, assist with resume and interview prep, and translate his military background into something the corporate sector could identify with. Jack helped Deandre secure at first a Tax Internship, and then a Quality Assurance internship at Mazars.  Deandre says “I see this as a path to a future job in accounting. I’m grateful to my mentor for supporting my professional development and for helping me advance in my career journey.”

Mazars Marketing Director Beth More says “With Veterans Day around the corner, we have the opportunity to look at what we are doing as a firm to give back to those who have dedicated so much of their professional lives to the military. There are ways for private sector organizations to make a true impact on veterans’ lives and these ACP mentors are an excellent example of the difference we can make for veterans who are looking to enter the civilian workforce. We’re proud to partner with ACP to help these extraordinary men and women develop long-term, meaningful careers.”

“All of us at ACP are delighted that Mazars is in our program,” said Sidney E. Goodfriend, Founder & Chairman of American Corporate Partners. “Thousands of men and women who have served our country came home and are facing a tough economic climate. Our ACP program assists them in finding new careers in the corporate world. We sincerely thank our Mazars partners who are offering their time and guidance to assist them."
