Mazars Chairman/CEO Victor Wahba signs pledge supporting CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion

New York, NY – September 3, 2019
Mazars, a leading audit, tax and advisory firm in the US, announced that Chairman and CEO Victor Wahba had joined over 700 corporate leaders in signing CEO Action’s pledge to support diversity and inclusion across industries.

Victor said, “The accounting and professional services sector has struggled to achieve diversity. Although we have programs at Mazars USA to support diversity in the workplace, there is still more we can do. I believe that it is important to set a tone at the top that our people are our first priority. Signing this pledge is part of holding ourselves accountable and continuing to do better.”

CEO Action for Diversity & Inclusion™ is the largest CEO-driven commitment to work collaboratively to advance diversity and inclusion in the workplace, and in turn, improve corporate performance, drive growth, and enhance employee engagement. This commitment is driven by a realization that addressing diversity and inclusion is a societal issue that CEOs can play a critical role in addressing. This unique gathering of CEOs of the world’s leading companies and organizations has agreed to take action to creating workplaces where diverse experiences and perspectives are welcomed and where employees feel comfortable and empowered. All the signatories of this commitment are leaders of their companies who agree to implement the pledge within their respective workplaces and to support other companies in doing the same.

The CEO Action pledge focuses on:

  • Cultivating environments that support open dialogue on complex, sometimes difficult conversations about diversity and inclusion.
  • Implementing and expanding unconscious bias education.
  • To share best known – and unsuccessful – diversity and inclusion programs and initiatives among signatories.
  • Engaging boards of directors/governing bodies in the development and evaluation of inclusion and diversity strategies.

“Although we have programs in place to promote inclusion,” commented Victor, “this is a chance to renew and increase our efforts. I, and Mazars in the US’s Executive Board, believe that there is more to be done and are committed to building a more diverse and inclusive work environment for our people.”
